Chinua Achebe, the Author of Things fall apart and many other great novels was born in 1930. All of his novels are for African audience but people all around the world read and study these books. Chinua Achebe was born into an Ibo family on Nov. 15, 1930, at Ogidi in Eastern Nigeria. He was educated at a government college in Umuahia, and he graduated from the University College at Ibadan in 1954. He later moved to America to become an professor in brown university. After 3 years after living in America he started to write Things Fall apart and completed it in 1959.
One of the main reasons fro Achebe to write his book is so the westerners would understand the true culture of Africa. Many Americans and Europeans have misunderstanding about African culture and he knew if he wrote this book he would give another opinion of African and African life.
